I'm a 16 year old girl and this is the second time I'm experiencing this
The first time was about 3 years ago. At first I thought I fell or something because my tailbone was hurting. I thought it was nothing so I wasn't worried at all. But a few days later It was still hurting, and I discovered a painfull lumb under my skin. I didn't tell anyone because I was scared, not even my mom. A week passed and the lumb got bigger, it was the size of a tennisbal and I could barely walk. I told my mom but I wouldn't show her because I was so embarressed. I also refused to go to a docter, but the pain became so severe, that I had to go. I scared the hell out of him haha, he told me I had an abces and he was going to cut it open. He sprayed something really cold on it and then he put the knive in it. It was painfull but such a relief.. All the pressure was gone and I was able to do everything again. I just had to keep the wound open for 2 days so all the pus and blood could get out. I thought I would never have to go through this again.
About a year ago, I felt a lumb again, I was so scared I immediately called my docter. The next day I was visiting him, and the lumb was gone! I felt stupid but happy haha.
Well, about a week ago the pain in my lower back started again, I thought it would be the same way as the last time. Unfortunately, it wasn't.. The lumb started growing again, except this time much smaller (lucky me) I went to see my docter but he told me there was nothing he could do right now, I had to wait untill the lumb was closer to my skin so he was able to cut it open. So I waited 2 days and went to visit him again. He told me I had à choice. The first choice would be him cutting open the abcess again, the second was an operation. Well I read about those operations, I started crying and told him I would rather die than walk with an open wound for months. He accepted my decision and I was told to lie down. He anaesthesized the area around the abcess, which really hurts! I didn't feel the knife, but when he started to push on the abcess to get everything out I started screaming and crying from pain. It really was the worst pain I've ever felt. My docter put a piece of a rubber glove in the wound so it wouldn't close, this is my situation now.
I really hope this won't happen again, I just don't understand why this would happen to me! I'm not overweighted, I clean myself regularly and I'm not very hairy haha. Well, I would just have to live with it, next time I am getting the operation! But I am still terrified and really embarrased, I haven't told it to anyone, because I think it's so disgusting with all the blood and other fluids haha.
I really appreciate this site it is very helpful thank you!
Oh and please don't mind my English, I'm from Holland, I tried my best
